“Tobin James Winery is a very familiar name to Bakersfield residents; they are a popular coastal winery and they produce solid wines,” says Russ Carter, co-owner and chef at RJ's at Riverlakes Restaurant. “The 'Ballistic' and the 'Notorious' are great wines, and so popular at the restaurant that we serve them by the glass,” he adds. The 'Notorious' is a cabernet sauvignon that boasts juicy dark fruits which overwhelm your palate. This wine goes great with marinated steak kabobs. The 'Ballistic' is a zinfandel, bold in its red color and fruity taste. This wine will pair excellently with any braised meat or pork dish.
