2006 Groth Chardonnay

alt

Hands down, we have a winner for this month's most popular wine choice according to Bobby Wittman, restaurant manager (also known as “the everything guy”) at Hourglass Kitchen and Bar. He suggests the ever-so-demanding 2006 Groth Chardonnay. It's very crisp and refreshing, unlike most chardonnays that are known to be buttery. It pairs unbelievably with chicken or seafood dishes. With the summer heat scorching down on us, this chilled wine from Napa Valley is perfect! Wittman advises those of us that are new to the wine tasting experience to take a type of wine, such as chardonnay, and taste only that particular wine from various regions for two months. Then switch to another type, for example, merlot, for another two months, and so on and so on. This, Wittman says, is one of the best ways to learn all about wine and be able to differentiate the distinct flavors and aromas that each region has to offer.
